I first became interested in tatting about ten years ago when I saw a tatted doily pattern in a crochet magazine.  I loved the look of the loops and delicate picots and tried several times over the next few years to learn how to tat using a shuttle.  I failed miserably.  I simply could not get the hang of how it was supposed to be done.  I forgot about tatting for a few years, until I was in a craft shop one day and saw a set of tatting needles for sale.  I was hopeful that perhaps I could learn this craft using these long, slender needles.  So, I bought an instruction book, the needles and a roll of crochet thread and off I went.  In about an hour I had made a small medallion.  It was a miracle.  I was tatting!!!  Go me!!!  I have made several items and even designed a few of my own patterns.  I am still impressed by people who have mastered the shuttle, but the needles produce work that is just as nice looking and, in my opinion, are far easier to use.
Just a reminder...All of the above patterns were designed by me.  Just me; and only me.  I would be flattered if you were to use them to make gifts for your loved ones, heck, print them out and make dozens if you are so inclined.  But please do not say that you designed them.  Because you didn't.  I did, remember?
Amusement Doily - The name for this traditional doily comes from the really bad "B" movie that my husband was watching while I was designing it.  A giant, mutant crocodile was terrorizing an amusement park.  Yikes!!!
Easy Easter Egg - An easy little easter egg for your basket!  Did I mention that it was...easy?
Winter's Rose - The inspiration for this piece came from a photo in a magazine.  It was of a rather sad rose with only one petal and one leaf clinging to life on the stem.  Hope I did it justice in lace.
Charity - This is a bookmark I designed for my grandmother.  She unfortunately passed away before I got the chance to give it to her.  We miss you Grandma.
Small Square Frame - A tiny frame for special pictures.
I will post more patterns as soon as I get to actually committing them to print.  Check back!
Handy Hands Tatting - One of the best suppliers in the world!  Excellent customer service and wonderful needle tatting tutorial for beginners.  Must be checked out!
Tattered - I love this site!  It answered so many of my questions when I was learning this craft.  Instructions, patterns and lots of other tatting goodies.  Another must see!
